We have once again partnered with the Government under Operation Chenesa Harare Phase 3 to clean up uncollected waste in the capital.

The operation also involves Local Government and Public Works Ministry, the City of Harare, and the Environmental Management Authority (EMA).

We are preparing to enhance the city’s waste management system through timeous collection of waste in the suburbs.

Our Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman, Dr Dilesh Nguwaya emphasised the need for sustainable waste management in Harare.

Dr Nguwaya said: “This should not be a one-time event but the start of sustained efforts to transform Harare into a cleaner city. We must embrace a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility in all aspects of our lives.”

Local Government and Public Works Minister Daniel Garwe praised our company for the great contributions in waste management.

He said: “The Government appreciates the private sector’s support during previous phases of Operation Chenesa Harare. It is encouraging to see various stakeholders working together and surpassing the targets for solid waste deposited at Pomona Landfill.”

Minister Garwe was impressed by the donation go tipper trucks, refuse compactors, and front-end loaders.

Harare Metropolitan Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Senator Charles Tawengwa said: “A dirty city leaves a negative impression on foreign investors. It hampers economic growth and job creation. Unmanaged waste tarnishes our national pride and creates a breeding ground for disease-carrying pests such as mosquitoes, rodents, and flies.”

Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume added: “This initiative is a significant step towards restoring Harare’s cleanliness. By working with Geo Pomona Waste Management, we can ensure proper waste handling and disposal. Cleanliness is a shared responsibility that affects everyone, regardless of political affiliation.”

The launch of Operation Chenesa Harare Phase 3 is aimed at ensuring sustainable waste management practices and a better environment for Harare.
