Geo Pomona Waste Management chief executive officer and Executive Chairman Dilesh Nguwaya has vowed to implement the waste-to-energy plant next year in line with what the company promised to the Government and the City of Harare.

Speaking during a Christmas party event in Pomona last week, Nguwaya said he was looking forward to the company experiencing exponential growth in 2024.

“Next year, we are looking forward to making the company grow in terms of production. We must do what we promised the City of Harare and the Government that in year three, we must be done with the waste-to-energy plant construction and sports fields,” he said.

Nguwaya added: “So, when we say let’s work hard, I meant it; I don’t want lazy people.”

The Geo Pomona boss also spoke strongly about the need for unity in the company.

“We must be a united team, vigilant and hard working. All your work-related issues must be taken to the human resources official,” said Nguwaya.

He paid tribute to the Geo Pomona workers for working hard for the success of the entity.

“The awards are a recognition of hard work. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all in your capacities for priming our company to success.”

“This is our second Christmas and we broke new ground together I salute your determination and strength to keep this organisation’s values alive. That’s why we must all be well-behaved because we carry the name – Geo Pomona.

“Next year, we want a bigger Christmas party and you should all bring your families. Next year, it’s my pleasure to invite all your families.

“I call for unity among workers as I don’t encourage camps. I don’t camp here. Anyone who wants to create camps must vacate my company.”
