Dear Stakeholders,
Welcome to the first edition of the Geo Pomona Waste Management Newsletter! This platform is designed to keep you informed about our progress, milestones, and vision as we work towards transforming waste management in Zimbabwe and beyond.
The year 2024 has been a remarkable journey for our company. Many of you have supported and witnessed our efforts, but we want to use this newsletter to dive deeper into what we’ve achieved, the challenges we’ve faced, and the exciting path ahead.
Waste is a global issue that continues to grow with urbanization and industrialization. Unmanaged waste, open dumpsites, and burning not only harm the environment but also pose serious health risks. As Geo Pomona, we aim to redefine waste management by transforming what was once considered “trash” into resources that contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
This year was filled with hard work, groundbreaking projects, and significant milestones. Despite facing delays due to global shipping challenges, our team remained resolute, pushing through to achieve extraordinary results.
One of the most defining moments for us was hosting the SADC Heads of State and Government, an event that positioned us as a regional leader in waste management.
We also made our presence felt on the global stage at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku, Azerbaijan. These platforms helped highlight the critical role waste management plays in combating climate change.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to our clients, stakeholders, and dedicated team for your unwavering support throughout the year. As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
On behalf of the entire Geo Pomona family, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Let us all commit to responsible waste disposal and preserving our environment.
Warm Regards,
Dr. Dilesh Nguwaya
CEO and Executive Chairman
