Our waste collection efforts to make Harare clean have gained pace as we have moved 27,432 tonnes of waste in March.

We were engaged by the Local Government and Public Works Ministry as well as the City of Harare to collect waste in the capital.

Uncollected garbage had become a serious problem in Harare until the authorities sought to establish a private partnership with us at the end of last year.

We have been collecting an average of 1,500 tonnes per day between 1 March 2025 and 25 March 2025.

Cumulatively, our weighbridges at the Pomona site recorded 274322.48 tonnes by 25 March 2025.

The waste was collected in over 2,000 trips.

In February, our target was 21830, but we have collected 32841 as of 27 February, 2025, having started the clean up on 10 February.

We have been executing waste collection in a phased approach, starting with the clearing of illegal dumpsites across Harare.

To accelerate the process while awaiting the delivery of Geo Pomona Waste collection fleet, we have entered into a strategic partnership with Bitumen World. This collaboration enables us to begin addressing the growing challenge of illegal dumpsites immediately, ensuring a visible impact in restoring cleanliness and order in the city.

Our phased approach prioritises the removal of illegal dumpsites, after which we will implement a structured and efficient waste collection system. We continue to work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the success of this initiative and to drive long-term improvements in waste management across Harare.
