The 66th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) marked a major milestone for Geo Pomona Waste Management after the company hosted President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa and President Advocate Duma Boko of Botswana during the exhibition week.

On Day Four of ZITF, the two Heads of State visited the Geo Pomona stand, where the company demonstrated how its waste-to-energy plant will operate and contribute reliable electricity to the national grid.

The project is expected to support cleaner urban management, improved sanitation and long-term energy security.

Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, President Boko toured the Geo Pomona Waste Management Facility, where he was received by Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman Dr Dilesh Nguwaya alongside Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi.

The Botswana leader toured the facility’s integrated operations, including the on-site restaurant and sports amenities.

He praised the project as a landmark in regional waste management innovation, recognising its potential to transform waste into economic opportunity while advancing environmental sustainability.

The visits underscored Geo Pomona’s rising regional profile and growing confidence in modern waste-to-energy solutions.

The company remains committed to delivering world-class environmental infrastructure that supports national development, clean energy generation and regional industrial growth.
