Geo Pomona Waste Management participated in the Zimbabwe National Organisation of Associations of Residents Trust (ZNOART) Harare Residents Interface Meeting held in Budiriro 1 Community Hall, reaffirming the company’s commitment to community engagement and improved service delivery.
The meeting brought together residents, community leaders, government agencies and service providers to discuss ways of strengthening citizen-centric service delivery in Harare.
Stakeholders present included representatives from the City of Harare, Environmental Management Agency (EMA), Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA), Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA), National AIDS Council (NAC) and other public institutions.
Geo Pomona was among key stakeholders invited to engage directly with residents on waste management issues affecting communities across the capital.
During the interface meeting, residents raised concerns around waste disposal practices, illegal dumping and the need for stronger community participation in maintaining clean environments.
Discussions also focused on the importance of behavioural change in waste management, with stakeholders highlighting that sustainable cleanliness requires both efficient service delivery and responsible community action.
Geo Pomona reaffirmed its commitment to placing residents at the centre of its operations, pledging to strengthen collaboration with communities and local authorities in addressing waste management challenges.
The company outlined ongoing efforts to improve Harare’s waste management systems through initiatives that include modern waste processing at the Pomona waste management facility, clearing of illegal dumpsites and supporting structured waste collection across the city.
The ZNOART interface meeting forms part of broader efforts to create platforms where residents can engage service providers directly, ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed while promoting accountability and collaboration.
