Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd today proudly took part in Zimbabwe’s National Environment Cleaning Day, reaffirming our commitment to sustainable waste management and environmental stewardship.

Our team joined key stakeholders including the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, the Environmental Management Agency (EMA), the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and other partners in a coordinated clean-up exercise across the Harare Central Business District.

Together, we worked to promote cleanliness, restore environmental pride and encourage responsible waste disposal practices within the capital. At Geo Pomona, we believe that maintaining clean and healthy surroundings is not only a national responsibility but also a shared community effort.

Our teams were actively involved on the ground, supporting litter removal, coordinated waste collection and public awareness initiatives aimed at promoting proper waste management.

Cleaning Day was officially declared on 5 December 2018 by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, with the first Friday of every month set aside for citizens, organisations and businesses to participate in environmental clean-up activities.

The initiative forms part of a broader national strategy to improve sanitation, promote sustainable environmental practices and strengthen community participation in protecting public spaces.

Since its introduction, the campaign has evolved into a nationwide movement that brings together government institutions, private sector organisations and local communities in collective action towards a cleaner and healthier Zimbabwe.

Participation in the National Clean-Up Campaign reflects Geo Pomona’s ongoing dedication to modern, responsible waste management solutions.

As a company focused on environmental sustainability, we continue to collaborate with national stakeholders and local communities to advance Zimbabwe’s environmental goals.

Through initiatives like today’s clean-up exercise, we aim to lead by example — inspiring individuals and organisations alike to take ownership of their environment while contributing to cleaner, safer urban spaces.

Together, we believe that building a greener Zimbabwe starts with collective action — and Geo Pomona remains committed to playing its part in shaping a cleaner future.
