We are delighted to participate at the 30th annual United Nations climate change conference (COP30) which started on Monday in the city of Belem, Brazil where about 50,000 people from more than 190 countries, including diplomats and climate experts, are attending the 11-day meeting.

The delegates have been discussing the climate crisis and its devastating impacts, including the rising frequency of extreme weather.

A high-level Zimbabwean delegation is at COP30. As part of the national delegation, Geo Pomona Waste Management continues to contribute to key discussions on climate action, waste management, and sustainable development. We remain committed to supporting Zimbabwe’s climate goals.

Waste Management is a Climate Solution! By prioritising the waste management hierarchy (the 4Rs):

1.Reduce

2.Reuse

3.Recycle

4.Recover (energy recovery)

5.Safe disposal

We can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect our environment.

Let’s end open burning of waste, ensure safe and proper waste disposal and promote circular economy practices.
