….GEO POMONA PARTNERS JACARANDA MUSIC FESTIVAL
A three-day music jamboree will be held in Harare hosted by the Jacaranda Music Festival where thousands of people are expected to gather throughout the weekend. But this also means there will be a lot of littering.
This is why we partnered with the Jacaranda Music Festival to ensure a clean environment from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October, 2024.
Our company is passionate about clean and sustainable environments, hence we will provide the bins during the festival. But it will not just end there; we will collect the bins and dispose of the waste to ensure the venue – Thornpark Polo Ground is kept clean.
This sponsorship is our way of contributing towards good waste management practices in Zimbabwe because we realised that in most such festival; drinks, water, beer bottles and other plastics are thrown around venues without proper waste disposal.
The garbage damages the environment as some of the waste may contaminate or pollute the air or water bodies.
Thus, the waste from the Jacaranda Music Festival will be disposed of at our Pomona site where the materials will be separated in our sorting plant, and undergo other engineering processes as part of our good waste management system.
So, as people will be enjoying themselves during the festival, it is critical to bear in mind that everyone has a role to play in keeping the environment clean and safe by disposing of their waste into our bins.
This partnership also shows that we are dedicated to always provide sustainable solutions that minimise negative environmental impact.
The Thornpark Polo Ground is part of our community, which we strive to keep safe and healthier.
The cutting-edge technologies at the Pomona site will also ensure that all the waste is properly disposed, even if there are hazardous materials as our landfills are now licenced to handle such waste.
We are committed to harnessing innovative technologies and best practices from local and international experts to create a healthier and safer environment for our communities including music festivals
As Southern Africa’s first, best and most efficient and innovative waste management entity, we are setting the standard for private/public partnerships (PPPs) in the provision of a better and more sustainable life for all citizens.
We will always contribute towards good waste management practices as we aim to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment.
