In our undying passion for clean environments, our team led by the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman Mr Dilesh Nguwaya descended on Helensvale Shopping Centre on Friday for a clean-up campaign.
We will be doing the cleaning-up exercises every month in various neighbourhoods.
This was done in line with the National Clean Up Day, declared on 5 December 2018 by His Excellency President Cde Dr E.D Mnangagwa to conscientise individuals and companies on the importance of keeping Zimbabwe clean.
Our Geo Pomona Waste Management Private Limited spent two hours between 8am and 10am cleaning up dirt at Helensvale Shopping in Borrowdale.
Mr Nguwaya and the whole team were all hands on deck and left the place clean.
We always participate and raise awareness for communities to practice good environmental and waste management.
The National Clean Up Day aligns well with our vision of promoting clean environments and we also laud President Mnangagwa for this great initiative.
Above all, we continue encouraging citizens to dispose of litter responsibly by properly using bins.
“As a waste management company, we are committed to promoting good practices. We can all do our part to ensure a cleaner, healthier future for generations. Simple acts like using bins can make a world of difference. Let’s take collective responsibility for our environment.”
Zimbabwe generates about 165 million tonnes of waste yearly with most of it in illegal dumpsites, wetlands, and urban streams. Plastic materials are the biggest pollutants, and the government has urged retailers and wholesalers to avoid using plastics for packaging.
As Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd, we have since started implementing a state-of-the-art waste management project to revolutionise how to dispose of and manage waste.
