{"id":3713,"date":"2026-04-18T06:27:54","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T04:27:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/?p=3713"},"modified":"2026-04-18T06:27:54","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T04:27:54","slug":"geo-pomona-chief-tours-hamburg-waste-to-energy-facility-during-iswa-meetings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/?p=3713","title":{"rendered":"Geo Pomona Chief Tours Hamburg Waste-to-Energy Facility During ISWA Meetings"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Geo Pomona Waste Management (Pvt) Ltd Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman, <strong>Dr Dilesh Nguwaya<\/strong>, is in Germany for the <strong>International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) Working Group on Energy Recovery<\/strong>, where global experts are meeting to discuss modern waste-to-energy solutions and sustainable waste management systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the second day of the programme, Dr Nguwaya toured the <strong>Centre for Resources and Energy in Hamburg<\/strong>, including a state-of-the-art Waste-to-Energy plant currently under construction and scheduled for commissioning in <strong>2027<\/strong>. The facility is designed to convert municipal waste into electricity while reducing landfill dependency and improving environmental efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit is of direct relevance to Zimbabwe, as it aligns with Geo Pomona\u2019s flagship <strong>Waste-to-Energy project<\/strong> in Harare, which is expected to generate between <strong>16 and 22 megawatts of electricity<\/strong> for the national grid once fully operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img
