Bindura Municipality is exploring a strategic partnership with our company as it strengthens waste management systems and advances its bid for city status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Town Clerk Evelyn Madziire made the remarks after leading a municipal delegation on a tour of our waste management facility in Harare, where officials were briefed on integrated environmental management systems and sustainable landfill operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are a municipality aiming for city status, which is why we came here \u2014 to emulate the best,\u201d Madziire said. \u201cAfter previous visits during national events, we felt it was important to return for a focused tour so that we can explore strategic partnerships going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regional collaboration and landfill development<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Madziire said Bindura is considering engaging neighbouring local authorities to build a collaborative framework that would enhance economic viability for regional waste management initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cConsidering our size, we may invite sister local authorities near us so that any future partnership makes economic sense. What we have seen here is a landmark project that demonstrates sustainable development and sound environmental management,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Bindura currently operates a managed dump site covering about 21 hectares and is seeking to upgrade part of the land into a modern landfill with technical support from our company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe already have land set aside, and our vision is to develop a fully-fledged landfill. That is why we are here \u2014 to learn from proven expertise,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman, Dilesh Nguwaya, said several local authorities across Zimbabwe are engaging the company as they modernise waste management infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are in advanced negotiations with the City of Kwekwe and expect to finalise discussions soon. Other authorities are at various stages of engagement, and we remain ready to partner with them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nguwaya also confirmed that a state-of-the-art restaurant under construction at the facility is nearing completion and is expected to open to the public next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe restaurant is almost ready. We anticipate opening in March and look forward to welcoming visitors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
