{"id":3562,"date":"2026-01-17T10:25:54","date_gmt":"2026-01-17T08:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/?p=3562"},"modified":"2026-01-17T10:37:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-17T08:37:09","slug":"kwekwe-seeks-partnership-with-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/?p=3562","title":{"rendered":"Kwekwe seeks partnership with us!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Kwekwe City Council has taken a significant step towards improving solid waste management by engaging our company to provide technical guidance and oversight for the city\u2019s two dumpsites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The collaboration is aimed at enhancing waste disposal practices, strengthening environmental sustainability, and promoting a cleaner and healthier living environment for residents of Kwekwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The decision follows a familiarisation and educational visit by a delegation of Kwekwe councillors, led by Mayor Albert Zinhanga, to our facility in Harare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>During the visit, councillors were taken through the operational and developmental aspects of the project, gaining first-hand insight into modern waste management systems, landfill rehabilitation, and energy recovery from waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Following the tour, council convened a special meeting where it resolved to seek our expertise, knowledge and technical support in addressing Kwekwe\u2019s waste management challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Speaking after the meeting, Mayor Zinhanga said the council is now awaiting engagements between its management team and Geo Pomona to finalise operational modalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cAfter touring the Pomona dumpsite and seeing what they have been doing, we resolved to work with them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cWe had already done our research and discussed this as councillors. The visit helped to affirm the decision we had taken at council to partner Geo Pomona in solid waste management.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Geo Pomona CEO and Executive Chairman Dr Dilesh Nguwaya welcomed the move, reaffirming the company\u2019s commitment to working with local authorities across Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cWe are pleased that the City of Kwekwe took time to appreciate what Geo Pomona is doing.
