His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde, Dr ED Mnangagwa has officially commissioned our 45 new refuse collection equipment and the state-of-the-art waste sorting plant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President unveiled 45 refuse collection trucks, compactors and tipper trucks. Among the refuse collection equipment are skip bins, which are expected to rise to 2500 by the end of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The equipment will see the company start door-to-door refuse collection, having cleared most of Harare\u2019s illegal dumpsites since February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A road sweeper truck was also unveiled<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Mnangagwa recounted how he had visited our facility last year during the 44th SADC Summit of Heads of State held in Harare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis event is another critical step in our journey as we march towards the Zimbabwe we want,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President said today\u2019s commissioning marks an important step towards achieving a clean city and country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis project highlights the confidence that the investors have in the conducive environment ushered in by the Second Republic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Mnangagwa then reminded the general citizenry that they were duty-bound to aid the country\u2019s current development trajectory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are masters of our destiny,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe must take pride in who we are and what we can do for ourselves kuchipisa, kuchitonhora, kuchinaya, kusinganaye, gore renzara, gore remaguta,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman Dr Dilesh Nguwaya said the waste management firm was committed to efficient waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday, we recommit ourselves to effective waste management. The 45 refuse trucks and skip bins are part of our broader long-term plans,\u201d said Dr Nguwaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said additional equipment, encompassing sweepers, trucks and skip bins, was on the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume said it was encouraging to note that the Second Republic and City of Harare are working together on issues related to service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
