The equipment is a game-changer in the country&#8217;s waste management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official commissioning of the Sorting Plant will be held soon as we continue to transform a once-smelly dumpsite into an enviable waste management facility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-02-23-at-20.35.22-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3122\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sorting Plant brings manual waste separation at the site to an end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is groundbreaking news in waste management in Zimbabwe because, for many years, waste pickers faced serious health risks, being exposed to hazardous materials and harmful gases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is interesting to note that once the Sorting Plant is operational, waste arriving at our site will be separated, recyclable materials will be set aside, and high-calorific waste will fuel the Waste to Energy Plant. Our power generation plant will produce 16-22 megawatts of electricity which will be fed into the national grid.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-02-23-at-20.35.21-1-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3123\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This technological innovation marks a giant leap in reducing landfill use and championing our Zero Waste to Landfill policy.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Utilizing a combination of mechanical and manual sorting methods, our facility will maximize the recovery of recyclable materials such as metal, glass, and plastic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-02-23-at-20.35.22-1-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3124\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was no easy feat as it took dedication and commitment to install and test the Sorting Plant.
