{"id":2659,"date":"2024-04-10T06:14:02","date_gmt":"2024-04-10T04:14:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/?p=2659"},"modified":"2024-04-10T06:14:02","modified_gmt":"2024-04-10T04:14:02","slug":"exciting-ghanaian-partnership-to-transform-waste-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/?p=2659","title":{"rendered":"Geo Pomona-Jospong Group talk waste management partnerships"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After a four-day fruitful visit to Ghana, we are making significant progress in negotiating an exciting partnership with Ghana\u2019s biggest waste management firm, Jospong Group of Companies to introduce more innovative ways of managing waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jospong specializes in waste management, particularly public cleansing and residential waste collection, transfer stations, plastic and organic waste recycling, and landfill management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman Mr Dilesh Nguwaya and other senior managers were in the West African country last week to share notes with Jospong&#8217;s top executives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Geo-4-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2664\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The two companies explored areas of cooperation as some of the biggest waste management entities to emerge in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tour in Ghana is likely to soon birth meaningful collaboration in environmental sustainability. \u00a0Once concluded, the partnership will likely revolutionarise waste management on the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Nguwaya said: \u201cIn Zimbabwe, Geo Pomona has brought the first ever waste management solutions into the country and were handed over the site by the City of Harare when it was a filthy and unlivable place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHowever, at the moment it has become a beautiful place and we are excited to learn more from our counterparts in Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/geo-2-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2662\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After less than two years in operation, we have made a significant mark in waste management and promoting safe environments. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the Ghana tour, we noted that Jospong uses the encapsulation system to treat waste \u2013 the same method we use in Pomona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our tour of Jospong Group took us to the company\u2019s subsidiaries such as Zoomlion Transfer Point, Accra Compost Plant, Sewage Systems Ghana, and Kumasi Compost and Recycling&nbsp;Plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/geopomona.co.zw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Geo-5-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2663\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Jospong Group of Companies founder, Dr Joseph Agyepong chipped in, saying: \u201cOur group has several waste management operations under its wings and we have showcased these operations to Geo Pomona as we strive to establish areas of cooperation. Last month we had an opportunity to tour their operations in Zimbabwe and they have transformed one of Zimbabwe\u2019s untreated dumpsites into a world-class facility.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even the Zimbabwean Ambassador to Ghana, Kufa Chinoza was happy about the collaboration between the two companies \u2013 Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chinoza said: \u201cGeo Pomona and Jospong are starting a beautiful journey due to the wonderful relations between Zimbabwe and Ghana.
